Building a Balanced College List (Session 02)
In partnership with DXT Foundation, Equitable Minds is kicking off a series of FREE college prep workshops. In the Session 02 workshop, students will learn how to build a well-rounded and strategic college list that reflects both who they are and where they want to go. We’ll break down what it really means for a college to be a good fit—academically, socially, financially, and personally—and why balance is key to reducing stress and increasing options.
Students will explore the difference between reach, match, and likely schools, and how to use data and self-reflection to guide their decisions. We’ll also dig into key factors like affordability, campus culture, location, support resources, and long-term career goals to ensure each school on their list serves a purpose.
Whether students are just starting their list or revisiting it with fresh eyes, this session will leave them with practical tools and questions to build a thoughtful list that works for them—not just what looks good on paper.
All are welcome, including parents.
You do not have to attend previous session(s) to attend this one
